Finger foods...

I make 90% of my boys food, with the occasional earths best or Plum organics, for on the go.  As they are getting older I'm having to get more creative so they can practice feeding themselves with the pincer grasp.  I am totally against processed foods.  The majority of it has added sugar.  I was looking at teething biscuits by Earths Best and even though its says "no added sugar" on it, the second ingredient is evaporated cane juice... SUGAR!!  I decided to make my own.

Vegan Teething biscuits...
1 c oats (you can grind if your baby doesn't like texture)
1 c ground oats (grind oats and make an oat flour)(I just put in the blender)
1/4 t salt
1/4 t cinnamon or ginger or cardamom
1/4 t nutmeg
1 t baking powder
1 c (~2) overripe bananas, mashed
1 t vanilla extract
3 T oil of choice (you can also sub applesauce)

Directions:
Mix dry, mix wet, add wet to dry. Drop by the spoonful onto parchment paper or greased baking sheet. Bake 12-15 min at 350.

Thanks for sharing this recipe. I hope to try it soon! It looks pretty simple, are the cookies soft or fairly firm?

Sounds great! I'll definitely have to try it out! My little ones are rebelling against the "mush" big time, so I've been trying to get creative with making more "solid" type food for them. I'm good on breakfast, but am having a hard time with lunch/dinner stuff!

Hey Heather! They are delicious! I hope you get a chance to try them! They are a little soft, unlike the traditional teething biscuits at the stores. However my boys suck on them and enjoy them greatly :)

Ya I hear ya! We're kind of in the inbetween phase of foods so we have to get creative ;-)
