What is it with the pressures of facebook to announce your pregnancy? There are two girls from my church who have already posted their u/s pics on there at 8 weeks to announce. I get my friends (AND HUSBAND!) asking when we're going to announce ours on there, like its something we HAVE to do. Why? All the people I want to know that I'm pregnant, KNOW that I'm pregnant. I know these people will be there for me if, God forbid, something terrible (won't even mention the word) were to happen. So what about the other 50% of my "friends" on there? They are FB friends, not IRL friends. I don't OWE them pictures of my precious babies... not just yet!

You'll know when you are ready to put it completely "out there." I too, am shocked when FB friends announce their pregnancies as soon as they know (sometimes at only 4 weeks.) I guess for those that haven't been through the same journey as us...pregnancy isn't as big of a deal. Not to say they aren't excited (obviously, they are,) but I don't think they fully understand how special and delicate a pregnancy is.
I don't plan to put it all out there until I am pretty far along in my pregnancy either. Only close friends and family until we know the sex of the bab(ies.) Then, I'll decide when I'm ready. Your friends are probably just excited for you and want to be feel open to talk about it on FB. You'll know when YOU are ready!
I don't understand people that announce so early. I understand wanting to tell me on facebook so you can post pictures and stuff but I won't tell anyone when we finally get pregnant till at least 13 weeks. I mean I'll tell parents and my super close friends that know where dealing if IF but I don't get telling the whole world early.
I don't blame you either if you aren't sure yet. I would like to befrind your on fb. What's your address?
