New milestone...

A new milestone!  I made it to that halfway point for a singleton... yay!  Although I am hoping to have 17 weeks left of this pregnancy... at least no sooner!

For some reason I feel like I've hit a wall this week.  I have been extremely exhausted!  I have had to take a nap almost everyday and as I'm typing, I can barely keep my eye's open.  It almost feels like first trimester all over again except with added aches and pains.

I've been using my maternity belt religiously and it has helped my low back as well as the massive amount of ligament pain I've been having.  Its not the cutest thing, but I'm able to hide it under a lot of clothes.  Around the house I just wear it over my shirts... I look nice and hot for C (NOT!) ;-)  He has been totally amazing though, always wanted to help out around the house, doing all heavy lifting and vacuuming, etc.  Plus, always telling me how beautiful I look when I KNOW I don't!

I do recommend a maternity belt if any of you are expecting twins or are just experiencing ligament or back pain.  Here's a pic of the one I purchased from Amazon:

Not that cute, but its worth wearing it around the house at least!

One of my mommy friends just told me about amazing deals she gets from Amazon.  You have to register as a mom and then you can get FREE SHIPPING!  I just ordered AND received my Twin My brest Friend pillow for nursing, and a double snap-n-go stroller!  They came in two days and I pain NO SHIPPING!

My parents bought us our dream stroller as a shower gift... the Bob Double Jogger!  Once the babies are big enough (a few months or so) we'll be using that one full time :)

So, here's my 20 week update:

How Far Along: 20 weeks 2 days :)

How Big Are the Babies: TWO CANTALOUPES in my belly!!!!!
Baby's now the size of a cantaloupe!

Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies respond best to tastes they've already had via amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you'd like your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.

Total weight gain:  20 lbs!  Only up 1 lb!

Maternity clothes:  Pretty much all of my clothes, except I can still wear some of my pre-prego shirts and dresses

Sleep:  I'm exhausted even though I'm sleep good. Hmmm... actually I do toss and turn at night more now because I am putting a blanket under my belly to help prop it up! LOL.  Otherwise I wake up with major ligament pain.  Maybe that's why I'm so tired!?

GENDER: Two lil BOYS!!!! Yay!!

Movement: DEFINITELY feeling my baby boys kicking on the outside!  C felt them this week too which was SUCH an amazing moment!  He is really excited.  My mom also felt them.  Its the weirdest feeling like little aliens in there! LOL

Food Cravings: I've been eating lots of fruit!  All kinds.  I also ate a bowl of cereal in bed last night... haven't done that it a while!

What I Miss: Not feeling so tired!

What I'm looking forward to: I'm going to say my next Dr. visit.  I had a 20 week check up yesterday and I got good news and bad news.  Good news is that my cervix is still nice and long, 4.4 cm.  Its a little shorter than last visit, but this is with a different doctor and a different machine so we'll see when I go back to the peri in two weeks.  Bad news is what Dr. I informed me yesterday about my last peri visit.  I'm a little upset because they seemed to say that EVERYTHING looked perfect.  Not totally the case.  I'm trying not to worry, but Baby A's umbilical cord attached to the side of the placenta, not the center.  This means that they need to monitor his growth very closely.  If he starts lagging behind his brother in the upcoming weeks, I may have to deliver early, so that he can get the nutrients that he needs.  I'm trying not to worry and just saying lots of prayers for my little guy... I know they are both in God's hands and I trust both of my doctors!

Milestones: 20 weeks is huge!  No more ER if something happens, I would go strait to L & D to get help.  According to my mom, anything earlier than 20 weeks they do nothing to stop preterm labor, after 20 weeks they do everything to prevent and stop.

Symptoms: Heartburn...  I think I get it more when I have an empty stomach, and I'm exhausted.  Nothing new to really report.

I will try to post a 20 week pic asap :)

I hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

***Thank you Jesus for dying so that I may LIVE!!!!

Congratulations on being 20 weeks!!! I too have a belly support - mine is the belly sling and it is definitely taking some of the pressure off. Also great that C got to feel the babies kick from the outside. Such a great moment!

Congrats! 20 weeks! I used the belly band at the first of my pregnancy, but then it started to feel more tight and uncomfortable than the back pain! Bummer about your heartburn, that was the Worst! Hang in there!

Congrats on hitting 20 weeks! I too have been experiencing ligament pain and back pain-. Some days I have hardly any pain and then on other days its really uncomfortable- it is strange how it comes and goes. Just recently I have been using a belly sling - and I find that it does help as well.
So cool that your husband was able to feel the babies- mine has yet to experience that- hopefully soon.

Congratulations on the pregnancy and for making it half way! I wish I'd had a belly band for either of my pregnancies. I wasn't big enough in the belly the first time for a belly band, but I probably could have used one the second time. After my emergency c-section I got something similar from the hospital (more like a girdle) and it was SO much easier to get around. I still had to rest, but general getting up and down was painless. If you have to go the surgery route with the twins be sure to ask them about it at the hospital, it will really help with recovery. ICWL

Congrats on 20 weeks. I'm also 20 weeks with twins.. And I am beyond exhausted. Had no idea I'd be so tired. Good luck with your sweet babies!

The heartburn was horrendous for me, especially in the third trimester. I would drink water and it would burn, and I was not a fan of rolaids or tums, blech.

Happy ICLW and congrats on your little boys! What an amazing story you have, especially the IVF that looked like a disaster at first and then got you here! Hope the pregnancy continues to go smoothly.
